Extended Contrail Shadow


This thin contrail shadow was quite obvious at first, though it had faded somewhat by the time I got the camera.

Because I was close to the plane of the shadow the reduced scattering shows up as a diagonal band extending below the contrail.

Looking towards the sun some of the shadow appears to fall on cirrus so is even more obvious.
