Draconid Meteors - October 2011


Weather conditions didn't look promising for a predicted outburst of Draconid meteors but a large gap allowed one of the peaks to be observed. Strong moonlight didn't help either by blotting out the fainter meteors.

This composite covers 20:08 to 20:12 UT and records 8 Draconids.

This composite covers 20:14 to 20:22 UT and records 7 Draconids, including an almost headon meteor within the kite shape of Draco's head.

This was the brightest one recorded racing through Cygnus. A faint train was visible on the following exposure
