One way of passing the time on a long motorway journey is to look out for mirages - provided you are a passenger that is, the driver should be looking out for other cars!
They aren't very large so it helps to use a telephoto lens for recording them.

Being a French motorway it is noticeably less crowded than the UK equivalent, which helps with getting a long enough line of sight.

Here the sky is so well reflected by the layers of air near the road that it seems to go below the horizon.
