Occultation of Eta Geminorum

The moon occults the bright star Eta Geminorum in this sequence, speeded up around 50 times. The lens reflections were a nuisance but fortunately were out of the way by the time the star was occulted.

This image was taken five minutes before the occultation and shows how much the moon moves in its orbit even in that short time.

The last frame before the star was hidden by the moon.
