A bright sundog showed briefly in this small patch of cirrus. The distinctive trees below the sundog are a good marker for the next image.

Just three weeks later and the sun was at a similar altitude but the sundog position has moved noticeably to the left. The steady march southward of the setting sun position shows that summer is nearly over.
