This glitter path over several tens of metres of thin ice has a distinctly elliptical core. The much smaller number of steeply angled defects causes some reflections well away from the main path. |
A small patch of ice illustrates the difference in reflection between ice and calm water, at the top and bottom of the image. The dazzling reflection of the sun off the water is just out of the top of the image. |
