Spider Web Glitter Path on Crops

A low shun shimmers off innumerable spider webs to create this glitter path across the field. The power line also reflects the sun but is probably a much simpler effect than the diffraction effects round the tiny spider webs.

Individual strands of spider silk hang between the blades of the newly emerged wheat crop, from any other angle they almost invisible. Some of the strands show quite strong colours due to diffraction.

Another better developed crop shows a similar effect. The broad leafed crop in the middle distance doesn't show the effect, presumably it isn't as suitable for the spiders. Also notice several overhead cables reflecting the sun, forming their own rather sparse glitter path.
