Sundogs near Sunset - Timelapse

Even a low sun can be dangerously bright !   Always use proper filters and protect your eyes.

This sequence covers about 50 minutes as the sun sets and shows a weak halo and a pair of sundogs changing as the cirrus drifts through. The camera was lined up by looking at the image on the viewing screen - not by looking through the viewfinder!

At this moment in addition to the weak 22 degree halo there was a sundog on each side of the sun plus an upper tangent arc touching the top of the halo.
