The glare from a sky filled with milky cirrus was too much to look at directly. The pond reflection reduced the glare enough to clearly show this upper tangent arc. |
In this direct view, taken a few minutes later, a faint 22 degree halo can be seen arcing down from the 'bar' of the upper tangent arc. The solar altitude was about 40 degrees. |
