Bright Tangent Arcs

A weak 22 degree halo on the left joins up with part of an upper tangent arc to produce this odd looking halo.

This upper tangent arc showed a reasonable amount of colour. At a solar altitude of 41 degrees the arc has a very shallow curve compared to the circular 22 degree halo.

In this closer view some 20 minutes later another patch of cirrus has produced a strong upper tangent with no sign of the 22 degree halo.
